Project Description
The City of Newark invited a mix of local and New York architects to come up with design alternatives to the traditional Boyonne box that was a popular design model used during Newark's housing boom.
Newwork developed a "push/pull" concept where the traditional box is changed based on the surrounding environment to create spaces that fit better with the streetscape. Program Push Pull addresses two broad goals of maximizing Real Estate Value while catalyzing Urban Vitality. Newwork's solution attempts to reflect today's market and can be developed as is and/or it can be developed into a neighborhood wide or even city-wide design and development program.
