Project Description
The Grand Leisure Corporation is developing an extensive entertainment complex in downtown Karachi, centered on an abandoned bridge, once the main connection between the old city and the port, and incorporating the surrounding new highway, rotary and circular park. The one-kilometer bridge will be transformed into a food street housing numerous eateries totaling 40,000 sq ft of climate-controlled space. Additionally, the development will feature a trading post for retail and fast food, an open air stage, and garden with different theme cafes. The project, targeted to middle and upper income locals and tourists, is expected to be open in 2006.
Newwork has been hired as to develop the master plan and the design vision for the development and is working with the client to find the most efficient construction approach; implementing a fast-track, design-build partnership with local contractors and a construction company in China. Newwork's design solution seeks to create a high-density theme-based entertainment environment that caters to all ages and members of the family.
